Bird Key Florida

In the early 1920’s, Bird Key was purchased from Mary Elizabeth Pickett by John Ringling, who linked the property to the mainland with the Ringling Causeway.  The Bird Key Development company purchased the community in 1951.  In 1960, the neighborhood was developed by the Arvida Corporation, and lots sold between $9,000-$32,000.

Today Bird Key offers an exclusive neighborhood that is close to downtown as well as St. Armands and Sarasota’s amazing beaches.  Owners may join The Bird Key Yacht Club,  a private tennis, dining and boating club.  Currently, there are 491homes and 17 vacant lots.  Bird Key is lined with beautiful Royal Palms and is patrolled 24/7.
